Eric Zimmerman

Obituary

Eric Anthony Zimmermann was born in Shawnee Mission, Kansas, on December 18, 1982, son of Cynthia Sue Anthony and Mark John Zimmermann.

Eric spent his childhood in Dallas, Texas, where he attended Lake Highlands High School. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Television and Film from the prestigious USC School for Cinematic Arts, and later a Master of Business Administration at SMU Cox School of Business. He proudly ran a successful business in film and music alongside two partners, worked on a variety of productions including “Jeopardy” and “Wheel of Fortune,” and wrote and filmed his own projects.

Eric was a great storyteller, a comic book nerd, a hip hop history buff, and a converted dog lover to Remy. He could go joke for joke with anyone he met. He loved the spontaneity of travel, even when it meant sleeping on park benches in Europe. He had a loyal group of friends spanning decades who meant the world to him. Eric loved big, and was loved by many; he knew how to make anyone and everyone laugh. He will always be Auggy to his youngest siblings, and EZ to his Mom and oldest sister.

Eric is survived by his wife and lobster, Natalie Wright Zimmermann; his parents, Cynthia Anthony and Mark Zimmermann; his sisters, Lisa Zimmermann and Lily Zimmermann; brother Reed Zimmermann; and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks for contributions to be donated to the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Dallas.
